General
Responsibilities
Manage
a group of staff facilitators as they guide youths in Legacy's experiential
leadership training. Coach staff as they facilitate an educational process.
Assist team leaders to identify and address group dynamics and communication
challenges.
Minimum
Qualifications:
* Ability to oversee and coordinate 8-10 leadership projects ("Action
Teams") with 10 staff facilitators ("Action Team leaders")
and 65 youth.
* Previous experience training others in the areas of: communication,
group management, discussion facilitation, decision making, creative
/ critical thinking, public speaking, and problem solving. (Trainer
or trainers experience preferred.)
* Thorough understanding of Global Youth Village's leadership training
model and style. Able to harmonize own personal style of instruction
with GYV approaches.
* Previous experience working with community service based organizations.
* Ability to approach tasks creatively and flexibly, and to use existing
challenges & circumstances as learning opportunities.
* Ability to manage a team structure, and give balanced feedback
* Ability to accept guidance and supervision, and seek guidance when
needed.
* Enthusiastic, self-motivated with high personal stamina. Good character,
integrity, self-reflective.
* Ability to inspire groups & individuals

Responsible
to: Director or Training & Curriculum Development
Specific
Responsibilities:
* Oversee training of all Action Team Project Facilitators
* Work closely with the Director of Training to develop an effective
management structure for Actions Teams (leadership project groups).
* Work with the Program Team to maximize themes of teamwork, leadership
& community action.
* Work with Program Team to design and facilitate all-Village discussions.
* Monitor projects on a regular basis. Check-in with project leaders
regularly.
* Design & lead weekly meetings with Action Team staff.
* Offer supervision and guidance to Action Team staff as needed.
* Oversee the successful completion each leadership project.
* Structure mid- and end of session evaluations for each project team
and as a whole team.
* Serve as a back-up cabin counselor on an as-needed basis
Essential
Functions:
* Ability to effectively communicate to and manage a group of 10 staff
leaders. Provide necessary instruction and guidance to staff during
project time and meetings.
* Ability to observe staff facilitation techniques and their impact
on the youths learning process. Provide staff with clear, open feedback
regarding their training techniques.
* Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental
and other hazards related to the activity.
* Possesses strength and endurance required to manage staff and youth
in a rural, residential camp setting.
