Logistics & Scheduling Coordinator
Job Description

 

 

General Responsibility:

To assist Staff Director in overall logistics and scheduling. Working with Program Director or Special Programs Coordinator as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, schedule events, and manage numerous details for large groups of people.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others based on knowledge of effective cross-cultural relations.
* Ability to establish works priorities, respond to unanticipated needs, and work under pressure.
* Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, ability to manage others.
* Ability to network and motivate staff to bring forth their talents and skills.
* Orderly, able to organize and set reasonable time lines involving copious information and multiple tasks.
* Ability to adapt programming ideas to suit various age ranges, group sizes, cultures, and language abilities.
*Word processing skills - either Word Perfect or Microsoft Word
* Ability to take initiative and seek/accept guidance and supervision as needed.
* Imaginative and creative.
* Good character, integrity, and adaptability.
* Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control.
* Desire and ability to work in a rural, camp setting.
* Fluent in English, other language abilities helpful.
* High school graduate with at least one-year post high work or school experience.
* Minimum age, 21 years old.

Responsible To: Staff Director

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate and schedule weekly electives and special activities.
2. Coordinate and arrange transportation for weekly synagogue and church outings.
3. Issue weekly events calendar, in coordination with the Special Events Coordinator
4. Coordinate staff time off schedule with Staff Director
5. Assist youth in placing phone calls per policy
6. Teach an elective once per session, as able
7. Set-up and monitor laundry system
8. Distribute phone messages at meals (or forward via Youth Director or Lead Counselors)
9. Arrange for drivers as needed on a daily basis (i.e. MD visits)
10. Organize shopping trips for international youths (if needed)
11. Devise special schedules for weekend activities and special events, in cooperation with the Special Programs Coordinator:
a. Saturdays, all day
b. Sunday, all day
c. Arrival days
d. Departure days
e. Orientation days
f. Special holidays and events
12. Work in concert w/ field trip coordinator re logistics & planning for mid-session field trip.
13. Process supplies requests, assist staff in ordering supplies for various program departments, researching vendors, etc.
14. Evaluate programming systems at end of season.

Essential Functions:

1. Ability to effectively communicate with youths and staff, and to provide necessary instruction.
2. Ability to communicate to staff and youths the safety regulations and emergency procedures in case of an all-camp emergency.
3. Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to area.
4. Cognitive and communication abilities to manage large, complex events.
5. Ability to operate essential office equipment needed to carry out responsibilities (i.e. telephone, computer, photocopy machine).
