"I love everything about Legacy.
I love the food, that I sleep soundly, meeting new people, seeing
old friends. The exchange and interaction among the staff and the
participants is one of the best parts. Learning about other cultures,
life styles, perspectives, personal experiences; just sharing with
people and embracing common values like tolerance and understanding,
all these things are part of the experience.
I've learned that humanity is even
more beautiful than I once thought that there are similarities and
aspects that are common to all of us, yet the wondrous diversity of
the world allows for so much variety of exchange and learning. I'd
say the most beautiful thing to witness at Legacy is to see how the
participants grow in just three weeks; to see the friendships form,
problems arise and be solved; to see the change in how a young person
perceives his or herself. It's easy for me to recognize because of
my own experience as a participant in 1997."

English teacher
