“Shannon tried a new language camp at Middlebury, in order to try to learn Arabic in preparation for her time with Iraqi students at GYV, and I know she was glad for the fine academic learning she received there; however, the difference was clear, that the kids at GYV were there out of sincere personal desire and longing vs. many at the other camp who were "highly encouraged" by parents. Shannon appreciated that you took the time and effort to really screen the participants at GYV for deeper intentions, as she felt their deep personal desires and passion for being there...... surrounding her. It made the world of difference in her experience, to be a part of something like GYV once again. No wonder that was her 3rd time there! We absolutely value the work you do there, and can't thank you enough for the unbelievable experience for growth and perspective, that you have provided our daughter, and all the others that you and your staff have touched so deeply. You give our world hope for increased peace in an uncertain world. Please keep up your amazing work!
