I’ll be very honest. When we first arrived at GYV in 2007 my husband and I thought, “Tommy will never make it here.” He had never even been camping before and was used to his air conditioning! As we were leaving he looked at us like h couldn’t believe we were leaving him in the woods. When Tommy didn’t call or email us the first week we were a little apprehensive that he had totally disowned us! Fortunately, we were able to view pictures of Tommy on the GYV website scrapbook and quickly realized that he was having a wonderful time! When we returned to take him home, he delayed the process as much as he could, making sure he hugged and said goodbye to everyone.
