Nguyenvu Nguyen – working to improve health care in Africa and Vietnam

December 10, 2008

Nguyenvu Nguyen (Participant ’84-’88) lives in Chicago. He is a doctor specializing in pediatric cardiac care. He is now transitioning from working at Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL to  private practice.  He also plans to be on staff at Children’s Memorial Hospital at Northwestern University in May 2009. He travels back to his home country of  Vietnam from time to time, helping to build the pediatric cardiac program there.  Learn more about this project

His new job will allow him to travel to Africa as well to work with children with HIV/heart disease.   He  writes, “it’s a whisper/nudging from God.  Warm regards to all me friends at legacy. You have been an important part of my journey.” He wanted Helen Wimberly (a painting instructor in the 80s) to know  that he just bought paint and hopes to paint again.

Legacy staff thank him for his year-end donation.
